I’m not in the convincing business, and neither are you

August 21, 2025

People who get it, get it.

This is something I wrote on Threads as part of a larger response to the never-ending (tedious at this point) conversation someone tagged me in around “AI taking every job imaginable from creatives and professional service providers.”

The truth is, I’m not in the convincing business, and neither are you.

There have always been folks out there who don’t understand the value of what I do (and I’m guessing — for you, too).

In my case, it’s the “you can make 7-figs without a website” business coaches, the “my English major niece / AI can just write it for me” founders, the “all you need are random landing pages with ad funnels” bro marketers.

I’m sure you can fill in the analogous examples for your line of work.

Frankly, I don’t care about those people. I waste no energy in my messaging trying to convince them that my work as an expert website messaging strategist is something they should invest in.

I wish them no ill will. But no, I don’t care.

The people I’m speaking to are those who value the one piece of real estate on the internet they truly own. Who know from experience that their message matters a fuck ton. And who see a “good enough” online home as totally misaligned with the caliber of their work.

This is the mindset to get into when making your website decisions.

Speak to your version of thishigh-intent client.

Who inherently values what you do.

Who is just looking for the right partner.

Who needs no convincing.

Who gets it.

…and watch your positioning elevate, confidence anchoring your messaging.

xoxo, your favorite website freak,

Krista

P.S.  Folks who do not yet see the value in or feel the immediate need for what you do… I firmly believe that when it’s time, it’ll be time. The role of your marketing and messaging (or your website) isn’t to artificially make someone more ready. It’s to be findable and powerful when they are.
