business 2024

January 8, 2025

Happy new year 🙂

What felt right in my business in 2024? What felt off in 2024?

As I’m recovering from travel and planning my year ahead, these are the questions I’m asking. It’s my pared-down Year in Review, Feelings Edition.

⬇️

What felt right in 2024?

  • Collaborations with talented designers and marketers*
  • Deeper, ongoing work with clients
  • This newsletter, The Emotional Entrepreneur

What felt off in 2024?

  • Not having a therapist**
  • Surface-level fixes for business problems
  • Too-fast growth for my sensitive nature

I instantly believed in the mission of this newsletter: to talk about the emotional journey of running a business (the blinding delight along with the stomach-dropping lows).

And while I want to be more consistent with this newsletter in 2025, I’m still bought-in. I can’t imagine running out of things to say because the feelings, they keep on comin’ as the business keeps on evolvin’.

I hope my explorations and confessions are somewhat universal across business models and industries. I hope this newsletter helps deflate the myth that you’re the only one who still flops into self-doubt. I hope it celebrates you, who pours your heart into your work, even when it’d be easier to care less. I hope it makes you feel seen.

Changes to this newsletter in 2025 –

  • Adding an edition, The Emotional Entrepreneur Extra, where I’ll curate an overview of my social media content that resonated most. Think: website tips, strategy stuff. If you’ve been a subscriber since my early days, this will be something of a return to that content.

  • Keeping a biweekly schedule for these emails, one standard, one Extra

Cheers to 2025.

*There are many, many collaborations I could share, but I’ll choose a few –

**I know therapy isn’t technically a business-thing, but also…  it most definitely is
